Further engaging in the online steam engine that helped propel President Barack Obama to the White House, his online communications team loses no opportunity to show the public that THIS OFFICE has a different agenda. Gone are the Cheney/Rove days of clandestine activities and closed-door agendas---welcome the arrival of a totally OPEN governing platform. That's right, you got it, the White House is gettin' naked---online.
I love the fact that my President reaches me daily - via email or on my Facebook page. Oh, he's on in my Twitter stream too but I have to move him to a different monitoring column to catch most of what's going on. Yes, this is better - way better. For we are a nation founded on the principals of every citizen having a stake in how this country is being governed---One Nation, Indivisible, etc etc....And finally, the Social Web has made this possible in a modern era!
What can businesses learn from this? A LOT!! The Obama camp (namely David Plouffe's team) that helped him earn his seat have blown open the doors on open, effective, online social engagement. Every brand, business and sole proprietor out there should review their tactics and take notes. For this, dear readers, is the way of the future.
